Foster-to-Adopt
So You’re thinking aBout adopting but want to foster the cat first…this is the program for you!
Our Foster-to-Adopt Program is for cats that are not in our adoption lounge, but still need a home! These cats are available to be fostered before their adoption is finalized. Since you are not able to meet the kitty first, we offer a foster period of seven days for you to see if it's a good fit. You will take them home and get to know their personality over the week. If after seven days all is going well, we would finalize the adoption paperwork.
The cats in the lounge at The Catcade are not available for Foster-to-Adopt. Only the cats listed on this page are available to foster before adopting.
If there is a cat below that interests you, please email Elle at elle(at)thecatcade.org
Rookie - male, 3 years old
Rookie is the most polite little man that ever existed. He’s shy with new people and cats, but is very brave about everything and puts on his best face when he wants a snuggle. Once he’s comfortable with you, he will want to hang out with you all the time. This man loves love (as long as he knows who you are!). I hear he’s quite the expert at catching (toy) mice, too. He would do best in a quiet home with other relaxed animals.
Rookie is missing some toe beans on his back paw due to a previous injury, but gets around without pain or issue!
Medical costs: $100
Foghorn (gray/white) and Leghorn (orange/white) - male, 4 years old
These brothers are just the sweetest. They’re a bit shy at first, but once they know you’re cool, you’re in the club for life. And by club, I mean the Snuggle Club. Snuggle on the couch, snuggle in your bed, snuggle in your sweet looking armchair, they’re gonna snuggle everywhere. Wait, you don’t have a sweet armchair in your house? …maybe you should consider a sick armchair for your home. It’ll make you look really dignified when you have relaxed people come over to meet your relaxed cats.
Foghorn and Leghorn need to be adopted together. They’d do best as the only pets in the home in a quiet environment.
Medical costs: $100 each ($200 for the pair)
Dorito and Emmy - male, female 2 years old.
Emmy and Dorito are like if the sun and the moon were personified into cats. Dorito is our sunshine boy who loves playing and hanging out with his people, while Emmy is a bit more shy and independent, just like the moon. But every moon needs a sun to circle, thus Emmy began to orbit Dorito. He is her comfort and her constant companion, even though they aren’t biological siblings. These two are a bonded pair who will give you every aspect of what it’s like to own cats; the girl who will sit with you on the couch, and the boy who will want all of the snuggles.
Dorito and Emmy would do well as the only cats in the home.
Medical costs: $200 for the pair.
Athena - female, 5 years old.
If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to have an extra 10 pounds attached to your hip, Athena is here to experiment with you! She will happily sit next to/on top of you while you document what it feels like. It will probably feel warm, it might vibrate a little bit, and it might be a little damp (because Athena drools when she’s happy). If you’re missing ten pounds and some purrs in your life, Athena is the girl for you.
Athena would like to be the only cat in the home.
Medical costs: $100
Condessa - female, 1 year old
Condessa is actively working on her skills so she can run away and join the circus. I’m sure that if you provide her with enough standing ovations for her acrobatic skills and treats, she would be happy to bring the circus right into your home. Of course, I call it a “circus”, but really it’s just her doing her adorable acrobatics and then falling asleep on the couch beside you in weird positions. If you don’t mind a little bit of gymnastics in your home, Condessa could add the right spice to your life. She would even be willing to teach other fun cats in the home her tricks if you have a cat or two! Condessa is being fostered with her friend Killer Queen. The two are already besties and would make a lovely pair!
Condessa would do well with her foster friend Condessa or in a home with other relaxed cats.
Medical costs: $100
Killer Queen - female, 1 year old
Killer Queen is all gas, no brakes. Seriously, until the gas tank is empty, this girl is go go go! She’s an absolute sweetie pie with a love for dashing about. KQ also absolutely adores the company of her foster friend, Condessa. When these two first met, there was a bit of a vogue-off for top gal, but they’ve decided they can share the top spot of Diva #1 together.
Killer Queen would love to go home with her foster friend, Condessa, but would do well with other cats in the home.
Medical costs: $100
Bagel - female, 2 years old
Miss Bagel is just about as polite as cats come. She’s a little shy at first, but once she gets to know you, she will follow you around for some sweet sweet lovin’. She' gets along well with her foster cat friends, and even peacefully coexists with a dog! Just look at those sweet eyes, and that little tail tippy! If you ask our resident Human Cat, tippy tail cats are the best out there. And in Miss Bagel’s case, that is very much true. So if you’re looking for a polite cat that could be okay as the only cat in an attentive home, or to sit with your resident cat, Bagel might be the girl for you!
Medical costs: $100
Evan and Enzo - 6 months, male. Bonded brothers.
Evan and Enzo are part of a secret club.. It’s got a handshake and everything. The only thing they’re missing is a super secret club leader. This is where you come in. Are you at all interested in making sure that club meetings go smoothly and you plan fun club activities? Can you lead fun wand toy meetings and provide club meeting snacks? If you could use two little club henchmen, Evan and Enzo would be the perfect addition to your home. The only catch is that they’re only looking for human club members - other animal friends make them real nervous. I get it, I got nervous at big Girl Scout meetings, too.
Evan and Enzo are shy at first, but warm up into loving little guys. They would like to be the only cats in the home.
Medical costs: $200 for the pair.
