Foster-to-Adopt
So You’re thinking aBout adopting but want to foster the cat first…this is the program for you!
Our Foster-to-Adopt Program is for cats that are not in our adoption lounge, but still need a home! These cats are available to be fostered before their adoption is finalized. Since you are not able to meet the kitty first, we offer a foster period of seven days for you to see if it's a good fit. You will take them home and get to know their personality over the week. If after seven days all is going well, we would finalize the adoption paperwork.
The cats in the lounge at The Catcade are not available for Foster-to-Adopt. Only the cats listed on this page are available for FTA.
If there is a cat below that interests you, please email Elle at elle(at)thecatcade.org
Jinxy - female, 10 months old. Play hard, nap harder.
Jinxy is the definition of “work hard, play hard.” This girl is all up in your business, climbing ladders, wanting to see what you got in your pantry. She wants a ribbon toy, and she wants it ASAP. Jinxy is going to want an active friend in the home, so if your home stash cat has been recently driving you up the wall because he wants to play for the 100th time in an hour, maybe you bring Jinxy home and the two of them can pal around and brew up some crimes?
Jinxy is a special lady who finds new environments and new friends intimidating. She is going to need someone who is patient and experienced with introducing cats to make her feel comfortable. If your cat has never met another cat before, or is also a bit territorial, she’s probably not your girl. Jinxy’s as sweet as can be, she’s just nervous at first and needs to feel fully comfortable before she lets her wild side show.

Moolah - male, 2.5 years old.
Please excuse any typos in this bio, because every time I see a picture of this beautiful man, my eyes well up with tears and I cannot control myself. Moolah is an absolute sweetheart of a man who is playful, loving, and chunky. That’s an absolute triple threat, so please PLEASE email me about this cat before I smuggle him home and make my husband say “no” for the 50th time about another cat.
You’ve probably noticed Moolah’s eyes. He had a double entropion procedure, due to his eyelashes turning inward and scratching the eye. This surgery has resolved the issue and he will no longer have any medical needs regarding his eyes other than possibly needing an eye drop occasionally. The shape of his left eye is from the surgery and doesn’t cause him any issues.
Moolah would do best as the only cat in the home.

Sour Cherry - female, 1 year 3 months old
Alright, I told Cherry I wouldn’t tell anyone, but we are in fact posting the photo of her writing her current book. I know, I know, that’s not really cool of me, but she’s a little embarrassed that in her free time she writes romance novels that rival Hallmark movies. She should be proud of that! When she’s not getting her freaky words on paper, she’s asking you to play fetch. Yes, Sour Cherry plays fetch. She would love to talk your ear off and chase a spring toy at the same time, if you’re willing? It’s her version of cardio. Sour Cherry would really love another young cat friend in the home. She’s getting along really well with her new foster friend! I hear the two of them are bouncing plot hole ideas off of each other.
Sour Cherry would do best in a home with another relaxed cat that she can pal around with.
Medical costs: $100
Rookie - male, 3 years old
Rookie is the most polite little man that ever existed. He’s shy with new people and cats, but is very brave about everything and puts on his best face when he wants a snuggle. Once he’s comfortable with you, he will want to hang out with you all the time. This man loves love (as long as he knows who you are!). I hear he’s quite the expert at catching (toy) mice, too. He would do best in a quiet home with other relaxed animals.
Rookie is missing some toe beans on his back paw due to a previous injury, but gets around without pain or issue!
Medical costs: $100
Foghorn (gray/white) and Leghorn (orange/white) - male, 4 years old
These brothers are just the sweetest. They’re a bit shy at first, but once they know you’re cool, you’re in the club for life. And by club, I mean the Snuggle Club. Snuggle on the couch, snuggle in your bed, snuggle in your sweet looking armchair, they’re gonna snuggle everywhere. Wait, you don’t have a sweet armchair in your house? …maybe you should consider a sick armchair for your home. It’ll make you look really dignified when you have relaxed people come over to meet your relaxed cats.
Foghorn and Leghorn need to be adopted together. They’d do best as the only pets in the home in a quiet environment.
Medical costs: $100 each ($200 for the pair)
Amanda - female, 1 year 4 months old
Cat Amanda (not to be confused with Human Amanda) actually has a lot in common with Human Amanda. Both of them are the kind of cat/person who wouldn’t like being let loose into a room full of people. They both enjoy frequent naps with people they like, snacks at all hours of the day, and then more naps again. So if you’re interested in adopting Amanda (the cat one, not the human one) prepare your home with soft surfaces and the yummiest treats you can find. But don’t blame me if Human Amanda also asks to come and hang out.
Amanda’s ideal home would be one where she is the only cat in an attentive home, or with another relaxed cat friend.
