Foster-to-Adopt
So You’re thinking aBout adopting but want to foster the cat first…this is the program for you!
Our Foster-to-Adopt Program is for cats that are not in our adoption lounge, but still need a home! These cats are available to be fostered before their adoption is finalized. Since you are not able to meet the kitty first, we offer a foster period of seven days for you to see if it's a good fit. You will take them home and get to know their personality over the week. If after seven days all is going well, we would finalize the adoption paperwork.
The cats in the lounge at The Catcade are not available for Foster-to-Adopt. Only the cats listed on this page are available for FTA.
If there is a cat below that interests you, please email Elle at elle(at)thecatcade.org
Henry - male, 10 years old. Fetch superstar.
This fun guy is looking for a special home where he can live out his golden years in comfort and peace. As a cat with some life under his belt, Henry is best suited to an experienced cat owner who understands his need for boundaries. He does love to be pet but sometimes his butt is off limits or he's had enough and he will nip to let you know he wants space. It's all part of his old man charm!
Henry likes the company of others, animal or human, as long as they can respect that he’s an old man who likes his own space. He’s currently living with three other respectful cats and is very much enjoying it! He also plays fetch, so many sure your throwing arm is warmed up for him!
Henry had his eye removed due to cancer, and he is currently cancer-free! However, because of this, he is more susceptible to cancer in the future and will need regular annual vet checks to maintain his health.

Kit - male, 10 years old. Professional Cuddler, Senior Sweetheart.
Calling all senior cat lovers—your perfect gentleman has arrived! Kit is a calm, affectionate boy who lives for cozy moments and quiet companionship. Whether he’s curled up next to you on the couch or snoozing in bed at your side (yes, he insists on sharing the bed—no closed doors, please!), Kit is all about being close to his people. Even if you aren’t his people, Kit hasn’t met a lap he doesn’t like. He’s quite the social butterfly and enjoys meeting new, chill people.
Kit is a master of relaxation but also enjoys short bursts of solo play and a good wand toy session when the mood strikes. A chill home would suit him best— unpredictable kids and loud sounds make him a little nervous (relatable, honestly)—but he gets along well with other mellow cats.
Kit was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and takes his medication like a pro—just a pill twice a day. Don’t worry: The Catcade will provide his meds for the first year after adoption. He’s also on a Hill’s Prescription Diet C/D, which he genuinely loves, so no food fuss here!
Thank you to Kate Scott Photography for these beautiful pictures of this sweet boy.

Schnuckiputzi - female, 1 year old. “Tortitude” at it’s finest.
Schnuckiputzi’s name means “sweetie pie,” and that’s exactly who she is. This little lady is slow to warm up, but once she’s in your home, oh she’s in it to win it. She’s currently enjoying the company of her foster cat friends, and even a dog! Miss Schnuckett, as we affectionately call her, is going to need an experienced cat owner. She’s going to want to be in your house and alllllll over the place! Life will not be dull with this sweet little gal, as she creates joy and fun wherever she goes.
Schnucki would do best in a home where there are other animal friends who can respect her boundaries.
Medical costs: $100
Not Tom - female, 5 years old. *adoption pending
Not Tom deserves a better name, let’s be honest. Nevertheless, she’s a gorgeous girl who also just happens to have a serious case of RBF (if you don’t know what that is, please Urban Dictionary it). She loves all things soft and fuzzy, so if you’re interested in adopting her, have your home prepared! Those big orange eyes, how could you deny her a soft surface? I’ve also recently discovered that this girl goes crazy for feather toys. Like absolutely bonkers. So make your checklist now, it should say:
Feather toy
Softest blankets in the universe
Plenty of treats for the bestest girl ever
Not Tom would get along well with other chill cats, or could be a solo girl to a very attentive family.
Medical costs: $100
Tiger (tabby) - male, 6 months old, and Lucky - female, 1 year old.
These two traveled the world together to make it to us. Tiger and Lucky are a pair that have become bonded while they go through ringworm treatment together. Honestly, we didn’t think they would bond, but these two snuggle, play, and wrestle like a sibling pair. We really thought Lucky was just putting up with Tiger like he was an annoying little brother, but the two share beds and toys and snacks in the most polite way. We can’t imagine splitting them up now.
Medical costs: $250 for the pair
Jinxy - female, 8 months old. Play hard, nap harder.
Jinxy is the definition of “work hard, play hard.” This girl is all up in your business, climbing ladders, wanting to see what you got in your pantry. She wants a ribbon toy, and she wants it ASAP. Jinxy is going to want an active friend in the home, so if your home stash cat has been recently driving you up the wall because he wants to play for the 100th time in an hour, maybe you bring Jinxy home and the two of them can pal around and brew up some crimes?
Wow, I’m really selling this cat, aren’t I? She’s pure love and chaos and you need her in your home, that’s all I know.
