Foster-to-Adopt
So You’re thinking aBout adopting but want to foster the cat first…this is the program for you!
Our Foster-to-Adopt Program is for cats that are not in our adoption lounge, but still need a home! These cats are available to be fostered before their adoption is finalized. Since you are not able to meet the kitty first, we offer a foster period of seven days for you to see if it's a good fit. You will take them home and get to know their personality over the week. If after seven days all is going well, we would finalize the adoption paperwork.
The cats in the lounge at The Catcade are not available for Foster-to-Adopt. Only the cats listed on this page are available for FTA.
If there is a cat below that interests you, please email Elle at elle(at)thecatcade.org
Josh - male, 2 years old. *adoption pending
If you’re looking for a chill companion with serious cool-cat energy, Josh is your guy. He’s got the vibe of someone who’s just happy to hang—whether you’re reading, relaxing, or soaking in a bubble bath (yes, he’ll absolutely supervise with those dreamy green eyes).
Josh is all about that one-on-one lifestyle. He’s not interested in sharing his space with other cats—he wants to be your main (and only) man. When he’s not keeping you company during self-care time, you’ll find him birdwatching like a true feathered-friend fanatic. We’re pretty sure if he could talk, he’d know every species by name—and probably have a favorite.
If your vibe is cozy, calm, and a little quirky, Josh just might be your new favorite roommate.

Henry - male, 10 years old.
This fun guy is looking for a special home where he can live out his golden years in comfort and peace. As a cat with some life under his belt, Henry is best suited to an experienced cat owner who understands his need for boundaries. He does love to be pet but sometimes his butt is off limits or he's had enough and he will nip to let you know he wants space. It's all part of his old man charm!
Henry likes the company of others, animal or human, as long as they can respect that he’s an old man who likes his own space. He’s currently living with three other respectful cats and is very much enjoying it! He also plays fetch, so many sure your throwing arm is warmed up for him!
Henry had his eye removed due to cancer, and he is currently cancer-free! However, because of this, he is more susceptible to cancer in the future and will need regular annual vet checks to maintain his health.
Medical costs: $100
Merlot - male, 5 years old. WWE Star, Tunnel Enthusiast
Mr. Merlot is about as rough and tumble as they come. I would like to clarify: Merlot is not an aggressive cat by any means, he just really loves to throw down. He loves to chase after wand toys, wrestle, and run through tunnels at light speed. Once he’s finally tired, he loves to sit on the couch and suck down a meat tube, which I think is the human equivalent of putting your feet up and having a beveragino.
Merlot needs cat friends at home that are not afraid of some playtime. He loves playing with his foster friends and should not be a solo cat. He currently lives with a large husky and I’ve heard that they are quite the pair!
Medical costs: $100
Jessie - female, 2 years old
Jessie is a gorgeous long-haired beauty who likes to take things nice and slow. Truthfully, Jessie is like if a white girl had transformed into a cat; she has the same Ugg boots and Lululemon set that every other girl has, and really just wants to sit on the couch and scroll on her phone. She’ll ask you what you’re ordering for dinner, because she can’t be bothered to whip something up in the kitchen, and won’t want to share her sweet treat afterwards. Jessie will also follow you around and ask you if you would still love her if she were a worm.
Because she prefers a peaceful environment, Jessie would thrive as the only cat—or with a very mellow companion—in a household without a lot of hustle and bustle. If you work from home, even better, because this girl would love nothing more than to sit beside you all day. Jessie would do best with an experienced cat owner. If you are a first time cat-person, this is not the cat for you.
Medical costs: $100.
Berry - female, 2 years old
Did you notice something a bit fishy about Berry’s photos? That almost all of them have that same gigantic, robotic fish in them? Well, that’s because he is her best friend. Berry and Mister Fish found each other shortly after she entered a foster home, and it’s been love ever since. I’ve heard that the two often go on romantic walks and nap together. So really, if you’re adopting Berry, you’re really getting a 2-for-1 deal on a cat and a robotic fish toy. Berry might not be a lap cat, but she and Mister Fish will make sure you’re never alone in a room ever again. They’ll always watch your back. And your front. Maybe your side, while they’re at it.
Berry is currently on a special diet while we test and see if she has any food allergies!
Berry would do well as the only cat in a home that can provide lots of attention, or with other active cat friends.
Medical costs: $100
Charlene - female, 2 years old
This cat requires that you sing her name to the tune of “Jolene” by Dolly Parton. I definitely didn’t make that up, she told me that herself. Charlene’s hobbies include being brushed, collecting all of the toys in the house and sitting on them, and birdwatching. I mean, look at those beautiful green eyes. I’d let her take all of my toys without protest.
Charlene could be an only cat, or could live with another young cat with slow introductions.
Medical costs: $100
Schnuckiputzi - female, 1 year old
Schnuckiputzi’s name means “sweetie pie,” and that’s exactly who she is. This little lady is slow to warm up, but once she’s in your home, oh she’s in it to win it. She’s currently enjoying the company of her foster cat friends, and even a dog! Miss Schnuckett, as we affectionately call her, is going to need an experienced cat owner. She’s going to want to be in your house and alllllll over the place! Life will not be dull with this sweet little gal, as she creates joy and fun wherever she goes.
Schnucki would do best in a home where there are other animal friends who can respect her boundaries.
Medical costs: $100
Strawberry (gray tabby) and Orange (brown tabby) - 2.5 years old. Bonded brothers.
Strawberry and Orange are the two best boys. I don’t say that lightly. They’re just two brothers that love each other a lot and want to share some of that love with you. These two are always ready to play, or maybe take a nap, or how about have a snack? They’re just very well-rounded. And I don’t mean their figures (though they are a combined 25 lbs of cat!). I’ll be very jealous of whoever gets to take these boys home and snuggle up with them every night.
These two are a bonded pair and have to be adopted together. They could do well in a home with other pets, with slow introductions, but would be happy if they were the only two cats in the home.
Medical costs: $200 total
Latte - female, 2 years old. Your Daily Dose of Warmth and Whiskers
Latte is the perfect blend of playful and snuggly. The moment you open the door, she trots right up to say hello, ready for pets, cuddles, and maybe a quick lap sit. She’s a true social butterfly—happy to befriend everyone in the house and any visitors who stop by. When she’s not chasing toy mice or leaping after a wand toy, Latte loves to stretch out nearby for a long, cozy nap. She adores being held, happily accepts belly rubs, and will keep you company while you work (she’s an excellent “coworker”).
Latte would thrive in a home where she can receive lots of attention. She’s not a fan of rowdy dogs, but she could settle in with a calm, respectful canine companion or other cats that love to play.
If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate cat who will brighten every corner of your home, Latte is ready to pour her love straight into your heart.
