Foster-to-Adopt
So You’re thinking aBout adopting but want to foster the cat first…this is the program for you!
Our Foster-to-Adopt Program is for cats that are not in our adoption lounge, but still need a home! These cats are available to be fostered before their adoption is finalized. Since you are not able to meet the kitty first, we offer a foster period of seven days for you to see if it's a good fit. You will take them home and get to know their personality over the week. If after seven days all is going well, we would finalize the adoption paperwork.
The cats in the lounge at The Catcade are not available for Foster-to-Adopt. Only the cats listed on this page are available to foster before adopting.
If there is a cat below that interests you, please email adopt(at)thecatcade.org
Optimus Prime - male, 3 years old
This big hunk of tabby love is just the best. I might be a bit biased because I favor a brown tabby, but still. Even if he wasn’t a brown tabby, I’d love him anyways. Optimus Prime doesn’t need to transform himself to win your heart. Also, just to be clear, he can’t actually transform into a car or anything, so don’t apply if you’re looking for a cat/car combo. But! It would be funny if you adopted Optimus Prime and then had your autocorrect change “cat” to “car”, because….you know… he’s named after a - yeah explaining my own jokes. Not good.
Anyways. Optimus Prime is a wonderful cat who is doing really well as a solo guy in the home with lots of attention and play time. He would probably get along well with other relaxed cats in the home.

Ciara - female, 3 years old
Do you want someone to follow you around and tell you how beautiful you are? Meet Ciara. This beauty mark queen is a little lovebug. She enjoys chirping like a bird, spending time with her humans, chin scratches, and being told she’s perfect (same). Also, she cannot play poker because you she wears her emotions on her face (also same) and is quite expressive! Guaranteed to be a meme at some point in her life.
Ciara loves all humans but would prefer to be the only kitty in the home.
Medical costs: $100
Bean (male) and Cloudgate (female) - 4 months old
This brother and sister duo have it all… looks, personality, being absolutely adorable… and they’re available for foster-to-adopt (have we lost our minds?!). They love people, get along with other cats, and are pretty much the total package. They must be adopted together.
Medical costs: $150 each ($300 total)
Slinky - male, 3 years old
Slinky is just a little guy who is looking for his forever person who doesn’t mind him following them around forever. When he meets new people he’s rather shy; he’s going to need someone who isn’t afraid of a little work before he gets fully comfortable. Once that sleek exterior shell has been cracked, this kid is as sweet and cuddly as chocolate pudding. I don’t know how cuddly chocolate pudding is, but it makes sense in my head. Slinky isn’t really much of a playing guy, he won’t chase soft toys or wands. He’d rather talk to you about your day and be glued to your side. Slinky might be the kind of cat you could get a baby wrap for, he will love you that much.
Slinky’s ideal home is a quiet environment where he is the only cat.
Medical costs: $100
Marge (male) and Marie (female) - 3 months old
These two playful siblings are the perfect pair! They absolutely love wrestling, chasing each other around, and generally keeping one another entertained. They also enjoy the company of other cats and would love a home where they can continue to have a feline friend around. When it comes to humans, they’re a little more reserved. They may be shy at first and will need some time to feel comfortable in a new home, but once they’ve had a chance to settle in and realize they’re safe, they’ll happily hang out with you.
Marge and Marie will need a patient adopter who is willing to put in some effort and wait for them to come out of their shell. A home with other cats that they can be friends with would be ideal, but is not necessary. These two are a bonded pair.
Medical costs: $150 each
Larry - male, 1 year old *adoption pending
When you think of an orange cat, do you think of a wild and crazy boy cat that is ready to cause chaos and destruction? Yes? Well throw that stereotype out the window. Larry is the most polite gentleman I think I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. That sweet orange face just wants to be nestled right up into your coziest blankets and enjoy a snooze in the sun with you while you watch whatever it is you’re rewatching on tv. After a rest and recharge and a snack, Larry is ready to play with his toys by himself, but you have to watch and tell him he’s doing a good job. You just have to, I do not make the rules.
Larry is enjoying life in his foster home with young children, and peacefully coexisting with other pets. He could be happy by himself in an attentive home, or with other relaxed pets.
Medical costs: $100
Cherimoya - female, 1 year old
This fluffy girl is as sweet as can be. She loves attention from people and the company of other cats. She’s so happy to stare out a window and see how many different bird calls she can identify (she’s been working really hard on learning!). You should also probably have a cat tower ready for her, because she loves sitting at the very top and pretending she’s a pretty princess. Rapunzel, who? Cherimoya will need plenty of brushing to keep that coat nice and luxurious, too, so make sure you are working out your brushing arm!
Cherimoya will do best in a home with other cats and attentive people.
Medical costs: $100
Glasgow - female, 1 year old
Oh sweet Glasgow. This girl is barely a year old and she’s had a whole litter of children. She’s a baby who had babies, for real. Now that her kids are all grown and ready to be adopted, she’s ready to enjoy the single cat life herself! To be quite truthful, she doesn’t have the best manners, mostly because she’s just learning what she likes, dislikes, and how to react to things like other cat friends. Once she’s settled in, Glasgow is quite the snuggler and has to share a bed with you at night. She will want to play with you, wand toys, and kicker toys endlessly!
Glasgow would do best in a home with other understanding cats, or with a very attentive human. She desperately wants to make cat friends, but isn’t sure how. She will need someone who experienced in a little bit of cat sass and emotion during introductions if she’s joining a family with other cats.
Medical costs: $100
Heloise - female, 1 year old
Heloise is a very lovely young lady who has recently discovered that she is a lap cat. Her daily routine includes sleeping in, breakfast, then napping after breakfast. Around mid-afternoon it is go time. She loves a wand toy or anything she can chase. Once she’s sufficiently tired, then begins more napping (preferably on your lap). In the evening she wakes up briefly to do some bird watching, before she ushers you to bed so you can do it all over tomorrow.
Heloise is very happy as the only cat in an attentive home.
Medical costs: $100
Wild Bill, Wyatt Earp, and Annie Oakley - 2.5 months old (male, male, female)
These three kiddos are as cute as can be. They are quite shy at first, but once they’re settled in, they’re setting up bank heists and getaway cars like it’s no one’s business. We know that a household looking for three kittens is rare, but we would like to keep at least two of these kittens together. The third will need to go to a home that already has a young, energetic cat at home. These kittens cannot be adopted solo!
Medical costs: $150 each
