Foster-to-Adopt

So You’re thinking aBout adopting but want to foster the cat first…this is the program for you!

Our Foster-to-Adopt Program is for cats that are not in our adoption lounge, but still need a home! These cats are available to be fostered before their adoption is finalized. Since you are not able to meet the kitty first, we offer a foster period of seven days for you to see if it's a good fit. You will take them home and get to know their personality over the week. If after seven days all is going well, we would finalize the adoption paperwork.

The cats in the lounge at The Catcade are not available for Foster-to-Adopt. Only the cats listed on this page are available to foster before adopting.

If there is a cat below that interests you, please email Elle at elle(at)thecatcade.org

Condessa - female, 1 year old

Condessa is actively working on her skills so she can run away and join the circus. I’m sure that if you provide her with enough standing ovations for her acrobatic skills and treats, she would be happy to bring the circus right into your home. Of course, I call it a “circus”, but really it’s just her doing her adorable acrobatics and then falling asleep on the couch beside you in weird positions. If you don’t mind a little bit of gymnastics in your home, Condessa could add the right spice to your life.

Condessa would love to be the only cat in the home so she can completely rule your heart.

Killer Queen - female, 1 year old

Killer Queen is all gas, no brakes. Seriously, until the gas tank is empty, this girl is go go go! She’s an absolute sweetie pie with a love for dashing about. KQ is also like 80% eyeballs, so just keep that in mind; if you wake up to go pee in the night and she’s sitting there in the dark with her big eyeballs, don’t get too freaked out. You know she’s going to follow you to the bathroom. You’ll never use the bathroom alone again if she’s around.

Killer Queen would love to go home where she has someone who can play with her as much as she wants, or with other young, playful cat friends.

Sour Cherry - female, 2 years old *adoption pending

Sour Cherry does not quite live up to her name, this girl is sweet as can be! She loves hanging out with her cat friends and getting attention from her human friends. This gal really is happy-go-lucky, she really just wants to be buddies with everyone! Sour Cherry definitely needs friends at home to hang out with, be human or feline. She would love to run around and lead them into all sorts of cahoots, so your cats at home better be looking for a gang leader of sorts.

Medical costs: $100

Optimus Prime - male, 3 years old

This big hunk of tabby love is just the best. I might be a bit biased because I favor a brown tabby, but still. Even if he wasn’t a brown tabby, I’d love him anyways. Optimus Prime doesn’t need to transform himself to win your heart. Also, just to be clear, he can’t actually transform into a car or anything, so don’t apply if you’re looking for a cat/car combo. But! It would be funny if you adopted Optimus Prime and then had your autocorrect change “cat” to “car”, because….you know… he’s named after a - yeah explaining my own jokes. Not good.

Anyways. Optimus Prime is a wonderful cat who is doing really well as a solo guy in the home with lots of attention and play time.

Ciara - female, 3 years old

Do you want someone to follow you around and tell you how beautiful you are? Meet Ciara. This beauty mark queen is a little lovebug. She enjoys chirping like a bird, spending time with her humans, chin scratches, and being told she’s perfect (same). Also, she cannot play poker because you she wears her emotions on her face (also same) and is quite expressive! Guaranteed to be a meme at some point in her life.

Ciara loves all humans but would prefer to be the only kitty in the home.

Medical costs: $100

Bean (male) and Cloudgate (female) - 4 months old

This brother and sister duo have it all… looks, personality, being absolutely adorable… and they’re available for foster-to-adopt (have we lost our minds?!). They love people, get along with other cats, and are pretty much the total package. They must be adopted together.

Medical costs: $150 each ($300 total)

He-Man - male, 2 years old

This man is PLAY-FUL. He is loving his wand toy sessions, playing games, playing tag - he would probably enjoy fighting crime if he could. He looks like such a polite cat from his photos, you’d never know he wants to roughhouse. He-man hasn’t been fostered with other cats before, but would probably really enjoy another playful cat in the home. So far he’s okay as the only cat in the home, as long as he has all the attention and play time.

He-man does sometimes get really excited during playtime and puts his mouth on a hand. He is easily redirected to a toy and stops when asked, but he does get the excited nibbles that energetic cats can sometimes get.

Medical costs: $100

Slinky - male, 3 years old

Slinky is just a little guy who is looking for his forever person who doesn’t mind him following them around forever. When he meets new people he’s rather shy; he’s going to need someone who isn’t afraid of a little work before he gets fully comfortable. Once that sleek exterior shell has been cracked, this kid is as sweet and cuddly as chocolate pudding. I don’t know how cuddly chocolate pudding is, but it makes sense in my head. Slinky isn’t really much of a playing guy, he won’t chase soft toys or wands. He’d rather talk to you about your day and be glued to your side. Slinky might be the kind of cat you could get a baby wrap for, he will love you that much.

Slinky’s ideal home is a quiet environment where he is the only cat.

Medical costs: $100

Cheddar Bay - female, 2 years old

Yep, that’s right: an orange lady cat! And a weird one, at that. Cheddar Bay doesn’t have the normal qualities of an orange cat; she probably has a few brain cells, she enjoys snuggling over causing chaos, and she’s a casual grazer who isn’t very food motivated. So if you’re looking to adopt a cat where you’ll have to correct people is a girl instead of a boy for the rest of your life, Cheddar Bay will be perfect for you.

Cheddar Bay is happy as the only cat in the home. She could get along with other relaxed cat friends who are not overly playful.

She also has pupils of two different sizes. She has been checked by our vet for any ongoing conditions or illnesses and has gotten a clean bill of health!
