Foster-to-Adopt
So You’re thinking aBout adopting but want to foster the cat first…this is the program for you!
Our Foster-to-Adopt Program is for cats that are not in our adoption lounge, but still need a home! These cats are available to be fostered before their adoption is finalized. Since you are not able to meet the kitty first, we offer a foster period of seven days for you to see if it's a good fit. You will take them home and get to know their personality over the week. If after seven days all is going well, we would finalize the adoption paperwork.
The cats in the lounge at The Catcade are not available for Foster-to-Adopt. Only the cats listed on this page are available for FTA.
If there is a cat below that interests you, please email Elle at elle(at)thecatcade.org
Schnuckiputzi - female, 1 year old. “Tortitude” at it’s finest.
Oh, Miss Schnucki. This girl is quite a handful. I hear she’s running around with her foster siblings (cats and a dog) and loves leading the chaos. Now the only reason Schnucki gets along so well with her foster friends is because they are as cool as cucumbers. Do you have a really chill cat at home who wouldn’t mind a little gremlin running about? You would be a great home for Schnuckiputzi! If your cat has not met other cats before, is maybe a little territorial, and is not fond of sharing snacks, your home would not be the best fit for this gal. She’s just looking for her happily ever after where she can have her henchmen understand that she’s top cat.
Schnucki would do best in a home where there are other relaxed animal friends. Schnuckiputzi has too much energy to go as a solo cat.

Jinxy - female, 8 months old. Play hard, nap harder.
Jinxy is the definition of “work hard, play hard.” This girl is all up in your business, climbing ladders, wanting to see what you got in your pantry. She wants a ribbon toy, and she wants it ASAP. Jinxy is going to want an active friend in the home, so if your home stash cat has been recently driving you up the wall because he wants to play for the 100th time in an hour, maybe you bring Jinxy home and the two of them can pal around and brew up some crimes?
Jinxy is a special lady who finds new environments and new friends intimidating. She is going to need someone who is patient and experienced with introducing cats to make her feel comfortable. If your cat has never met another cat before, or is also a bit territorial, she’s probably not your girl. Jinxy’s as sweet as can be, she’s just nervous at first and needs to feel fully comfortable before she lets her wild side show.

Cash - male, 1.5 years old.
Oh sweet, sweet Cash. Cash is a cat who prefers the company of cats, but once he gets to know you, he can be a total snuggle bug (as you can see in his photos). He is a cat’s cat for sure, as he’s always warmed up to his cat friends more quickly than his human ones. He loves to chase toys and play with his cat friends, once he’s comfortable, and will never turn down a treat! If you’re a patient person who has owned cats before, maybe you could take a chance on Cash? His current foster says he gives kisses.
Cash is going to require more time than the 7 day foster period to get fully adjusted to his home. He would do best in a home with other relaxed cats, with someone who is willing to give him the time to adjust. Being the only cat in the home would not be best for him, as he gains confidence in humans through watching his cat friends.

Miranda - female, 4 years old
Miranda was recently described to me as “the most polite cat”. At first, she is a little shy, and she will enjoy starting at you from a cozy spot or atop a cat tree. Once she’s warmed up, she will happily chase a toy mouse around the house. Her zoomies have been called “glorious”, so get in on this sweet girl while you can! After the zoomies, you guys can snuggle up on the couch together for a nap, maybe have a snack?
Miranda is very happy to be the only cat in a home with lots of attention. She would love a human companion who works from home, or is home more often than not.
Moolah - male, 2.5 years old
Please excuse any typos in this bio, because every time I see a picture of this beautiful man, my eyes well up with tears and I cannot control myself. Moolah is an absolute sweetheart of a man who is playful, loving, and chunky. That’s an absolute triple threat, so please PLEASE email me about this cat before I smuggle him home and make my husband say “no” for the 50th time about another cat.
You’ve probably noticed Moolah’s eyes. He had a double entropion procedure, due to his eyelashes turning inward and scratching the eye. This surgery has resolved the issue and he will no longer have any medical needs regarding his eyes other than possibly needing an eye drop occasionally. The shape of his left eye is from the surgery and doesn’t cause him any issues.
Moolah would do best as the only cat in the home.

Sour Cherry - female, 1 year 3 months old.
Alright, I told Cherry I wouldn’t tell anyone, but we are in fact posting the photo of her writing her current book. I know, I know, that’s not really cool of me, but she’s a little embarrassed that in her free time she writes romance novels that rival Hallmark movies. She should be proud of that! When she’s not getting her freaky words on paper, she’s asking you to play fetch. Yes, Sour Cherry plays fetch. She would love to talk your ear off and chase a spring toy at the same time, if you’re willing? She would probably benefit from another young cat friend at home, too. Maybe they can swap writing tips, or start going to pilates together or something.
Sour Cherry would do well in a home with a human(s) who can give her lots of exercise and attention, or with another active cat.
